How You Can Support the Troops

Our troops are over in a different country fighting for freedom and the rights of other people because it is one of the things that America stands for. Some of them go when they are still kids, but they have to think like a man and be prepared to take another person's life.

If our troops did not go to these other countries, it's possible all of the bombing and the wars would be in our country. You should always be thankful for every military person who serves in any capacity. In fact, if you know any, you should always thank them for serving.

There are many different ways you can choose to support our troops. There is an organization called Any Soldier through which you can send letters and care packages to soldiers. When volunteer soldiers receive packages addressed to "Any Soldier," they distribute them to soldiers who rarely or never receive mail. You can send care packages with items that they probably have not seen since they left for their destination or a picture of your family, showing how grateful you are that the troops are protecting them with their lives. You can send a phone card so that he can call home if he gets near a phone. Candy and cookies or any kind of snack will brighten their day. There are also many programs which support hospitalized veterans and the wounded with handmade blankets and crafts, if you're of a creative mind, as well as numerous options for sending personal letters or cards to soldiers who have been deployed.
